The Red Egg Party

We celebrated Everett's arrival in our family with a traditional Chinese Red Egg Party a couple weekends ago. The red egg party symbolizes luck, happiness and the renewal of life. Parents traditionally give guests red-dyed eggs and introduce the child to loved ones, who officially welcome him into the family and the large community. Both sets of parents came down along with our brothers and my grandmother. We had lots of friends joining us in the celebration with lots of food! It was great having our family in town and spending time together.

Everett loves checking out his handsome self in the mirror...he will often smile at himself too! It's quite adorable!

Adam's side of the family: sister-in-law, Kristie, brother, Scott, and his parents

The whole clan

Random Fact from Adam: "Vermont, the nation's biggest producer of maple syrup, yielded 920,000 gallons in a one-month period starting in late February, up 30 percent from the year before, according to New England Agricultural Statistics. Producers tapped more than 3 million Vermont trees, about 20 percent more than in 2008. One gallon of syrup requires about 40 gallons of sap."

More visitors!

Heather and Savannah came to visit us all the way from Boston! It was so much fun showing them around the Triangle and trying to convince them to move down here! We spent the 4th of July in downtown Raleigh and time soaking the sun by the pool. Heather has started doing photography as a side buisness and she is quite talented. You MUST check out the pictures she took of Everett because they are TOO cute. Click HERE! Once on the site, click "newborns" and then "Everett" to see our sweet boy. Here are few other pictures from their week in North Carolina!

Heather's daughter, Savannah and Melinda's son, Tony meeting each other for the first time. It was seriously one of the cutest things ever watching them interact.

Nunez to North Carolina!

Melinda, Daniel, and Tony came to visit us!! They arrived last Sunday and they are leaving to drive to the beach today. Melinda and I have been friends since 9th or 10th grade, we've been in each others weddings, and now get to introduce our sons to each other. We've had a blast hanging out and letting our boys get aquainted with one other. And, we even got to eat Locopops on multiple occasions! Yum yum! Everett shared his toys with Tony and didn't mind at all letting him test out they toys he's not quite ready for yet. We love you all and can't wait until we see you again soon!

We loved having the Nunez family visiting us!
